This is supposed to be the most joyous day of the year!!!!! So why am I sitting here in tears? Why, when I saw Him on the Altar set up at St. Louis for Easter blessings, did I completely break down hysterically? Why did this not bring me comfort, peace, joy, and elation? This is... PRAY!
But for the Priest, it is not just a livelihood, it is a commission, a vocation, a mandate from God.
A Moral Dilemma in This Crisis!
I keep coming back to the theme: There are no easy answers. I received a text regarding a lack of volunteers at our local Soup Kitchen. I am ashamed to say that I often planned on volunteering, but never followed through on the plan. Was God calling me to do so at this time? After... Continue Reading →
There are no easy answers!
“There are no easy answers”. This was part of a post I made on FB yesterday. I have always believed this and never more so than recently and especially yesterday. If you want to get down to it and if we tried hard enough, we could probably find a Bible passage to fit every decision... Continue Reading →
I Can’t Pray with You at Mass Anymore
Do you have a tendency to pray the prayers at Holy Mass in one or two breaths or fairly/definitely fast? Have you ever contemplated that in doing so, you are alienating or preventing others from participating? I am finding myself unable to pray aloud many of the prayers of Holy Mass, as well as, attending... Continue Reading →
Do You Believe That You Are a Gift?
In our efforts to combat abortion, euthanasia, child abuse, etc., we often will say "every life is a gift". But do we really believe that? Do we believe that about every person? Do we believe that about ourselves? We live in a world filled with hatred, disrespect, dishonor, and disbelief in God. Some might say... Continue Reading →
I Count Myself as Nothing in Others’ Lives
With the exception of possibly our parents or children, the lesson I have learned recently is count yourself as nothing in anyone's life. Most may not understand, but this is a good thing - not negative at all. In God's eyes, you are everything and that is all that matters. Throughout the Bible, there are... Continue Reading →
My Gift Tonight – Knowledge of the Extent He Went To to Save My Life too!
Tonight is a different story. I saw a FB post after our Alpha session about a young woman. The tag on the post was "Jesus saved me from suicide". As I was driving home, I thought about the 3 times I too had planned suicide. I always knew He had a hand in stopping me, but He shed a new light on to what extent He went to save me.
Grateful that some do recognize – “I” matter!
I am learning to look for the positive in situations that drive me insane, anger me, insult me, or hurt me in any way. Today, I saw 3 more posts stereotyping "boomers" as modernists, hippies, or whatever. Sometimes, although I know I shouldn't take it personally, the barrage of stereotyping gets to me especially when... Continue Reading →
Why do we say we are okay when we are not okay?
Before I went to sleep last night, my mind was awhirl with a few conversations yesterday. 1 of which was where I had the normal exchange with another where we ask each other if we are okay. We both answer yes. I told a 3rd party that this exchange happens often. That the other person... Continue Reading →
