Rosary Meditations for Our Priest Convocation – The Luminous Mysteries

 The Luminous Mysteries

The Baptism of Jesus

My Lord, there is so much to contemplate with this great Mystery – but in this meditation I am concentrating on 2 aspects – the Humility demonstrated by Yourself and St. John the Baptist, and the revelation of the Holy Trinity.  You showed Your humbleness by asking St. John the Baptist – your created servant – to baptize You!  St.  John, in his humility, recognized You as the Lamb of God, as well as his unworthiness and position as the precursor, and rightfully protested baptizing you (“It should be You baptizing Me”), but through Your Authority did as You requested.  In awesome wonder,  You arose from the waters and we were given the great Reveal of the Truth of the Trinity.

As Your Priests of the Memphis Diocese meet, grant them the humility they need to accomplish Your Will.  Through the Mystery of the Blessed Trinity, may they be inspired, guided, and empowered to carry on  Your Mission in these troubling times.

The Wedding Feast at Cana

Again, so so many lessons, truths, blessings, and graces could be contemplated in this Mystery, but nothing greater than LOVE.  Oh most Blessed Virgin Mary, you demonstrated your love for your children by approaching Jesus to ask for His assistance when a couple was in need.  Jesus, oh what great Love between Mother and Son.  You could not deny her.  I ask both you, our Mother and You,  our Lord, bestow that Love upon our Priests that they will be filled and complete.  Allow them to always follow our Mother’s command – “Do whatever He tells you”

Proclamation of the Kingdom

Jesus, as You announced the Kingdom is at hand and then proceeded to tell us of that Kingdom and how we are to obtain entry.  Let our good Priests teach us through their words and example, the promise of the Kingdom and the Beatitudes as the keys.

The Transfiguration

Illustrious and Magnificent One, You gave Your Apostles a glimpse into Your Glory through the Transfiguration but they did not understand.  So often, You reveal Yourself and Your Truths to us, but we doo do not understand.  Sanctify and bless Your servant Priests with the wisdom, courage, and understanding they need to recognize You and Your Glory and to share that with us.

The Institution of the Eucharist

My Lord and My God!  My simple prayer for this meditation is Thank You!  Thank You for Yourself, thank You for Your Priests, thank You for Your Church, Thank You for giving this most Precious Gift to our Priests that we may participate and consume Your Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in this great Feast.  Let them always be humbled by the authority granted them to call upon the Holy Spirit to bring us Your True Presence in the Consecration of mere bread and wine.  Let them always be joyful, reverent, and thankful for their Priesthood and the power with which You have entrusted to them.  Let them always be consumed by You as You have allowed Yourself to be consumed by us.
