Blessed Beyond Understanding

I began this day in your Presence, Lord,

To praise and worship and adore

To You, oh Lord and King, our intentions did I bring

In Your Mercy and Your Love blessings flowed from above

And when it was time to depart, I offered you my soul and heart

As I walked out the Chapel door, how could I know what you had in store

That to this miserable sinner you would give so much  more.

A few hours later when I arrived for Mass, I thought my joy could not be surpassed

I thanked thee oh Blessed Trinity for showing such great mercy to me.

I asked Your Mother Mary, to bring all the graces she could carry

that we might be made worthy to receive and wholly to believe.

And as the Liturgy began, peace filled my mind again.

Your holy Priest acted in Your Place.  His love for You shone in his face

Your Gospel he read with a servant’s heart.  To us, his wisdom he did impart

At the time of Consecration, I lifted my eyes in anticipation

To see his love for You which is beyond compare,

how he handles Your Body and Blood with such care

As I approached Your table, I was again unable to fully understand or comprehend

You give yourself to us to eat although we are unworthy to sit at your feet.

Wonders of wonders, on this most blessed day, You came to me in that special way.

That special Gift You share with me that fills me with humility.

And to receive from the one You love, my heart soared like a dove.

And when we were dismissed, my heart was overcome with bliss.

As the day progressed, You showed me I was blessed

with friends and family, who truly care about me.

Some struggles arose in the day’s time, but for me it was all sublime.

I was filled with your Love and Your Gift and to You my entire being I uplift.

Oh, what a day it has been and as it comes to an end,

I reflect with such delight as this day turns into night
